Grand Finale Week at ASiB


   
  May 28th – June 1st, 2012.

The 2011-2012 school year at Art School in Budapest is ending with the exciting Grand Finale Week. Come and bring a  friend to the a variety of lectures, art lessons, film, workshops and the Waka-WAKA End of Year Party.

ASiB Students who attended minimum 12 weeks of spring semester will have free admission to all of this week’s events.  


PROGRAM: 
MONDAY, May 28th:

 14 -19h - Drawing Marathon  - join a 2 x 2½ hr drawing lesson where we will be exploring the rules of different types of composition, line quality and its connection to your feelings, representation of space and much more. All levels of drawing skills and experience are welcome. Please bring paper, pencils and/or watercolor brush(es) and ink and/or pen and ink.

 19.30hARTISTS TALK:  Sári Ember, an emerging Hungarian photographer will present her latest works in a 45 minute lecture. (http://www.embersari.hu/)

15 -19h  – ARTISTS TALK:
A unique opportunity to meet emerging Hungarian artists and to hear how they make their art. Artists will present their work in 45 min lectures followed by discussion time for you to ask questions.

WEDNESDAY, May 30th:

14 -19h - Painting Marathon
- a 2 x 2½ hr fun painting lesson where you can explore expressing your feelings with colors and learn how to mix colors. All levels of artistic skills and experiences are welcome. Please bring your own paper and any water based (not oil) paint which you would like to work with.

19.30 - 21hSoft skills for hard cases - Basics of Nonviolent Communication  (workshop) by Eva Rambala certified international NVC trainer. In this workshop you may learn how to see the relationship between how you think and how you feel, understand others instead of reacting, connect with your deepest needs, speak in ways that are more likely to be heard by others, negotiate difficult situations with greater ease and confidence, gain hope and skills for nurturing peace in our world. THURSDAY, May 31st:

14 -19 h - FLOW Marathon
- a 2 x 2½ hr long workshop for anyone aged 14 and above regardless of artistic talent and knowledge. While being engaged in using traditional  and alternative art materials you will be encouraged to explore and express your feelings and needs. Awaken your creativity and have fun. Discover how being self-connected can boost your creativity and joy of self-expression. (admission  5000 – 8000 Ft (including materials), max. 8 participants, please apply to secure your place) 

19.30 -21. 30h – NVC Play Room – Come to play an interesting board game with a dice and many cards, designed by Hugo Roele  (Holland) an author and NVC trainer. You can use the game aiming for better understanding of yourself and/or resolving conflicts with others.  A fun way to see nonviolent communication (NVC) in action.

FRIDAY, June 1st:


14-15.30 h –  The Language of Life and Connection - Short Introduction to Nonviolent Communication (workshop)  by Éva Hava Jónai,  certified international NVC trainer 
    In this workshop you may learn how to hear feelings and values even behind hostile language, listen in a way that inspires openness and honesty, say „No!” in a way that encourages communication and consensus or how to welcome anger, and transforming it into life energy.( http://emk.hu/)  (free admission, max. 15 people, please apply to secure your place)

THE CONTEMPORARY ART DAY

16 -17.30 h – „A Door to The Contemporary Art Room” (interactive lecture) by Barbara Guttman DLA. By giving you some basics guidelines and engaging you into a discussion about several works of art created in the last 20 years, this lecture will give you an interesting glimpse into understanding the exciting world of contemporary art.

17.45 - 19 h  “Why Do We Support the Arts” – a heart warming lecture by Jutka Fischer  B.A. dip. A.M., a ceramic artist and art organizer. Using real-life examples, Jutka Fischer will illustrate ways in which engaging with creative activity can change people's lives, both individually and collectively.
