Pikkujoulu
Little Christmas Party
Little Christmas Party
(max. 40 persons - please register)
Pikku Joulu is a Finnish expression, meaning little Christmas. It is a name for parties Finns like to give in the time before Christmas. Beside mulled wine and yummy cookies, this little party at ASiB will be spiced up with a game I learned at my first pikkijoulu party in Finland. You are most welcome and please feel free to bring an art-loving friend, too.
List of things to bring to the party:
1) slippers or warm socks (you will be asked to take off your shoes and may be sitting on the floor)
2) a cup you will drink from (Please help us care about the environment and say “NO” to using plastic cups) 3) some vegetarian food, snacks and/or drinks
4) two or more small wrapped presents for the Pikkujouly game- The present should not be very expensive and if you are creative feel free to make something yourself. If possible keep the presents either handmade or art-related, to keep the spirit of the school. Please remember to wrap your presents at home. It is important for the game that no one knows what is inside the package.

Upon my students' request,
a special Art Flow class dedicated to Christmas will be offered on December
9th. Inspired
by the theme of Christmas, this lesson will encourage you to reach the joy of
self-expression while working on one or two smaller projects and one bigger art
project, using both usual and unusual art materials. During these 3 hours, I will be facilitating you through a journey of
self-connection and finding the flow of your creativity. Methods used at this lesson are related
to my doctorate research in art education as well as the process of Marshall B.
Rosenberg’s NVC (Nonviolent Communication). Click here to read about student's experience of the FLOW course.
