About the film:
Emil Nolde began his independent creative work only when he was 37. But blessed with with unusual productivity and a long life, he could still leave an exceptionally large oeuvre. Nolde was a German-Danish painter and printmaker and was one of the first Expressionists, a member of Die Brücke. He is considered to be one of the great oil painting and watercolour painters of the 20th century and is known for his vigorous brushwork and expressive choice of colors.
